Daily Writing Prompt

Gratitude

Daily writing prompt
What positive emotion do you feel most often?

Gratitude functions as the master gland of the soul from which all other positive emotions flow. Consider how hard it is to be grateful and sad, or grateful and angry, or grateful and worried at the same time. When the cares of this world start to press me down, I have found praise and thanksgiving are the best cures. This is why gratitude is the positive emotion I cultivate most often. Would you like me to show you how I do it?

I am thankful that I was able to get out of bed early this morning with only a little stiffness. I’m thankful this cup of black coffee. I’m thankful that I arrived last night safe and sound after unexpectedly having to spend nearly the whole day at the airport, and I’m thankful for another day to be able to draw a little closer to the Lord. (Psalm 118:24, 100:4; 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18; Isaiah 26:3)

Never Leave Home Without It

Daily writing prompt
What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

Better than an unlimited charge card, far better than the smartest of phones, and more powerful than any speeding bullet is the Word of God. Carry it in your heart and nobody can ever take it from you. Think about it as often as you can, and you will never forgot it or leave it behind. See John 15:1-11

Who am I?

Daily writing prompt
How would you describe yourself to someone?

There were seven sons of Sceva traveling around casting out evil spirits by calling on the name of Jesus Christ. They said to the evil spirit in this one man, “we adjure you by Jesus Christ who Paul preaches to come out.” The evil spirit answered, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on the seven of them and gave them the mother of all beatdowns. That one man beat the seven of them so badly that they ran from the house wounded, bleeding, and naked! Read the account for yourself (Acts 19:11-17).

Who am I? Just a soldier in the Army of Jesus Christ.
