The one thing I wish I could have learned earlier in life is my early morning routine of Bible reading, followed by prayer, which is then followed by physical exercise. As good as things are now, I can only imagine what things could have been like had I only started sooner. Better late than never. Better sooner rather than later. Wisdom calls to all who are willing to listen…”Now is the acceptable time!” (Psalm 119:9; Luke 4:16-19; Matthew 11:28-30; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Acts 22:16).

As Commonly Used
The word “mine” as commonly used to denote ownership, requires an attitude adjustment to conform to the Word of God. (Galatians 5:26; Corinthians 4:7; Acts 17:28; Matthew 25:14-30; 1 Peter 2:9)
Song of the Soul
Why does even the cage bird sing? To perfect the craft and honor the one who has created the voice. I blog to tread out the grain. By it I am nourished and by it I leave a trail of bread crumbs for all who choose to follow. (1 Corinthians 9:9-10; James 1:21-25; Philippians 3:12-16; Proverbs 14:4)
Many, Few, and One
There are many actions and distractions in this world that are not profitable. It has taken me many years to be able to turn from some of them. I can say thankfully though, that there are only a few things needful to support the one that I have found to be most profitable. Early morning prayer is my ephod. It is the one thing that has improved my quality of life every single day. (Luke 10:38-42; 1 Samuel 30:7-8; Proverbs 3:5-8; Ephesians 3:14-21)
My Common Practice
Every morning, long before the light of day, I search online for book, chapter, and verse. I have much more of the Holy Bible stored in my heart than I do of the specific reference numbers. It is enough to remember part of a verse, search Google with it, and the entire reference is then easily found. The secondary reason I do this is for writing my blog. The primary reason I do this is to nourish my soul with sufficient light for the day. (Acts 17:10-11; Psalm 119:9-16, 105).
It’s Easy to See
Dawn is an everyday miracle that most choose not to see. My favorite time of day by far is the early morning. Our elders have showed us that those who do not rise up early to seek God before the cares of the day start pressing in, will seldom have time to find God at any other time of the day. Adopting the ancient practice of seeking God in the quiet of the morning has transformed everything about me. (Psalm 19, 27:28; 63:1; Mark 1:35; 2 Peter 1:16-21; 2 Corinthians 13:13-14)
Mother of All Recipes
Start with the seed. Mix with faith, hope, and love. Soak completely in living water. Bake until the Chief Baker says it’s done. (Luke 8:11; 1 Corinthians 13:13; John 7:38; Psalm 27:14).
Hope is…
Having purpose gives life meaning, and opportunity that leads to fulfillment of purpose excites me more than anything else. Most people miss opportunity because it often looks like hard work covered in the dirt and dust of problems and difficulties. Opportunity causes excitement because it is like miracle grow for hope (Jeremiah 29:11-13; Romans 15:13).
Sooner or Later
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been driven by this feeling that I am not yet what I will be. I have been planted by streams of water by the grace of God. I have many green leaves, lots of tender blossoms, and much fruit on the vine. It is the love of God that compels me to continually work for the harvest (Psalm 1:1-3, 92:12-15; Ephesians 2:10; Ecclesiastes 9:10; Colossians 3:23; Philippians 2:13; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Hosea 14:8; Isaiah 61:3; Jude 1:24-26)
Make Clear the Path
Writing gives expression to my mediations on the Word, which is like a light shinning on the straight gate and narrow way (Psalm 1; Matthew 7:13-14; 1 Corinthians 9:24).
