Give Ear and Listen to God’s Guidance
5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. Psalm 78:5-8 (KJV)
The Morning Exhortation
Sow to the Spirit and reap all the promises of God. By faith we sow to the Spirit and even this is not from ourselves. Faith too is a gift from God. The more I do the more I realize I can do nothing apart from Jesus Christ. No matter how grand something is in the eyes of others, if it contains none of the love of God, it is vain, nothing, and lighter than dust. Peace flees from us when we are too busy to pray, mentally absorbed with trivial things, stressed out, and too drunk with entertainment to even remember God. This is one of the best laid plans of our enemy and many of us live it all day long. We end up wearied by the burden. Surely there is a better way, and it is more of God throughout the day and less of other things.
