Devotional for July 31

Quote by Bruce Coleman: "What we think, what we say, and what we do are the gatekeepers of the heart."

The Lord Will Keep You

27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. Psalm 37:27-33 (KJV)

The Morning Exhortation

The three amigos of the normal Christian soul please God with what we think, what we say, and what we do. What we think provides the substance for what we believe. What we say gives expression to what we think, and what we do is the physical representation of what we think and what we believe. What we think, what we say, and what we do are the gatekeepers of the heart. It is for this reason God has graciously given us the Spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind.
