My Help Comes From the Lord
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121 (KJV)
The Morning Exhortation
Results and consequences come from what we do and don’t do. Diet and exercise are perhaps one of the easiest to understand examples. The inner life is comprised of the integrity between our actions and what we know. Lifelong learning is important, and even more important is the knowledge of truth expressed in speech, motives, and deeds. Truth is the essential knowledge at the center of life that remains unchanged by what we think, feel, or believe. Divine facts are divine facts whether we choose to believe them or not. Those who know what is right and do it are call blessed. Those who know what is wrong and avoid it are called wise. Those who know right and don’t do it are lost. Therefore, what we do and don’t do is just as important to us as the truth we know. Let no one deceive you concerning this essential: Prerequisite for being set free by the Truth is a willingness to be conformed to it.
