My Confidence
71 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. 2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. 3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. 4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. 5 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth. 6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. 7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. 8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. 9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. Psalm 71:1-9 (KJV)
Morning Exhortation
The world says it needs to see or feel it before believing it. The worldly order is always to see or feel it first, only then to believe it as fact. This is the complete opposite of the divine order though. God requires us to first believe the biblical truth as fact, then to affirm His truth by faith expressed in thoughts, speech, and deeds. The one who bases their faith on the way they feel or what they see is easily led into doubt. Faith must be able to look beyond all secondary causes. Faith comes by hearing the Word, and hearing comes only by believing the Word. Let the redeemed of the Lord rejoice. Seeing and feeling are lag indictors. Have faith in God.

The Prayer Appointed for This Week from the Book of Common Prayer
Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant me so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that I may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
