The Heavens Proclaim His Righteousness
1 The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. Psalm 50:1-6 (KJV)
The Morning Exhortation
Thinking of quitting? It happens to us all from time to time. Take a deep breath. Inhale slowly, and exhale even slower. Be still and remember your God (Psalm 46:10). Life is full of a multitude of things, events, and people that frustrate and vex us (Ecclesiastes 1:14-15; 1 Corinthians 13:10-13) , but what God permits for us is ordained as part of our curriculum designed to increase our godliness and patience (Psalm 62:11; Matthew 28:18; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; 1 Peter 5:6-9; Galatians 6:9; Matthew 28:19-20). Now take this command: “Forward…March!” Rather than praying for relief, pray for the strength to endure (James 1:2-4; Nehemiah 8:10; Proverbs 24:10). God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted or afflicted with more than you can handle (1 Corinthians 10:13-14). Praise Him for His wonderful goodness and endure (Psalm 92:1-2; Hebrews 10:36; 1 Peter 5:10-11).
Question
If God be for us, who or what can stand against us?
Answer
Absolutely nothing, no one, no way (Romans 8:31-39; John 6:27-29; Ephesians 3:14-21)
The Prayer Appointed for This Week
Almighty and everlasting God, grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the Book of Common Prayer
